You can recycle plasterboard at 4 Suffolk Recycling Centres: 

  • Bury St Edmunds
  • Foxhall
  • Lowestoft
  • Stowmarket

Free limits

You can dispose of up to 100 litres of plasterboard for free each time you visit a recycling centre. 

You can make four recycling centre visits to dispose of plasterboard in every 4-week period.

Charges

If you take more than 100 litres of plasterboard to a recycling centre in one visit you will need to pay a charge.

The following charges are based on the standard plasterboard sheet size being 1.2m x 2.4m.

4 to 8 sheets or equivalent

Full transit van or equivalent

Plasterboard must not be contaminated with other materials such as tiles, wood or insulation and must be kept dry.

If contaminated it will not be accepted at Recycling Centres or in your general rubbish bin, it needs to be dealt with by a private waste contractor.
