Some charities will accept large electrical items for reuse. Find your nearest charity shop.
If you are purchasing a new electrical item to replace an old one, ask whether the shop offers a takeback scheme to recycling your old item.
If you need to recycle a large electrical appliance yourself, you can either take it to a recycling centre or organise a bulky waste collection.
Recycling Centres
You can recycle large electrical items at a Suffolk Recycling Centre in the large domestic appliance section.
Only domestic type fridge and freezers will be accepted at the site. If you have a industrial type fridge or freezer it will likely be classed as trade waste and may not be accepted due to electrical take back scheme restrictions.
Please make sure any fridge or freezers have been cleared of any contents.
Bulky waste collection
You can organise a bulky waste collection service with your local district or borough council. This is a chargeable service.
