Repair cafes and groups
Repairing things that we already own is a great way to reduce our impact on the environment and save the planet’s resources. It also contributes to tackling climate change and reducing our carbon footprint.
There are some great online tutorials to help learn how to repair things such as clothes and other items and YouTube is full of homemade videos to help you with all sorts of repairs. The LoveYourClothes campaign is a great resource for learning how to care and repair for your clothes as well as learning how to upcycle and refashion your tired garments!
However sometimes its handy to have a helping hand and the ‘Repair Cafés and groups’, springing up in Suffolk are there to do just that! They are run by community groups, are free to attend and are a great way to meet people and get some help fixing your item. They often involve other recycling schemes, helpful advice on living more sustainably and even tea and cake!
Here are the details of the repair cafes we are currently aware of. Please get in touch if you know of another repair cafés or groups in Suffolk that you think should be included in the list below, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
